University of Oregon: One Club Student Exhibition
The School of Journalism and Communication at the University of Oregon needed to display their student’s portfolios at the One Club Student Exhibition. To draw attention to the exhibit, I created an interactive presentation that allowed the audience to add content via SMS, Twitter, Flickr, or by taking a picture at a kiosk at the exhibition.
The projected reel and live feed, along with the camera, were built in Flash. Both communicated with a Ruby on Rails web application that stored the snapshots taken with the camera, downloaded tweets from Twitter and photos from Flickr, and received SMS messages. The SMS messages were received via a prepaid phone tethered to a computer running the gnokii library.
